When you send an email message, do you also list your social media sites? If not, you may be missing out on an opportunity to connect. I have seen a lot of email messages in my life, and most of them miss out on this important opportunity. Either they are missing an email signature block entirely or the signature block is devoid of opportunities to highlight their social media sites.
If you are looking for opportunities to increase your followers, you need to let them know about your sites. You can not expect others to go through the trouble of researching your company, you need to make it easy and tell them.
Last week, I encouraged businesses to put up signs highlighting social media sites. This week, I am encouraging you to beef up your email signatures to include your social media sites. Every email you send in support of your business should include your email signature block. This includes replies and forwards. According to Jan Zimmerman, “An e-mail signature block is a powerful marketing tool which is the equivalent of a business card or letterhead.”
