Lately, I have been experimenting more with conversing with ChatGPT to create blog posts. I am happy with the results. Actually, I’m using a lot of different AI tools to make my blog posts.

The process starts with NotebookLM and my morning pages. It is serving as my idea generator.
Using Morning Pages and NotebookLM to Generate Ideas
Every day for the past month, I have been doing morning pages. Morning pages are a mind dump. I spend about 10 minutes dumping my thoughts into a Google Doc, which NotebookLM then processes. Now, I turn to NotebookLM and ask it for blog post ideas. Very quickly, NotebookLM produces a list based on what I shared. This list is a collection of things I’ve been thinking about. NotebookLM recognizes the patterns and provides me with something to write about.
Turning Ideas Into Conversations With ChatGPT
Once I have an idea that I want to work with, I go to ChatGPT and turn on Use voice mode, which is on the right side of the input field. ChatGPT and I then begin our conversation.
How Voice Mode Helps Clarify My Thoughts
I explain to ChatGPT what I’m trying to do. I explain that I’m writing a blog post and want to cover a specific topic. I ask ChatGPT to ask me questions one at a time to help guide my thoughts. ChatGPT captures my thoughts and adds clarity. I tell ChatGPT not to include additional information outside the conversation we’re having.
Shaping a Blog Post Through Guided Questions
ChatGPT will interview me one question at a time. Each question helps me figure out not just the what, but the why behind what I’m writing. The process lets me really think about what I’m trying to do. I can always interject if I feel ChatGPT missed a key concept. ChatGPT will draft a blog post at the end of the question session.
Expanding Posts With Headings and Structure
Once it creates a blog post, I ask ChatGPT for headings. I now have a starting point for the blog post.
Looking Ahead: Using ChatGPT for Book Writing
I’m looking forward to taking this further for some books that I’m planning to write. I will use ChatGPT to interview me for different chapters or chapter sections. This will help me capture what I know about a topic. In some cases, I may be using note cards to support the interview process.
Here’s a process you can try. Let me know how it goes.
