If there was one book I could give to faculty that taught them strategies for online learning and teaching, Small Teaching Online: Applying Learning Science in Online Classes would be that book.

In this episode, I am going to review Small Teaching Online. As I noted, I believe all online instructors should read this book. It is packed full of useful content that will help faculty transform online courses into more engaging courses.
The authors, Flower Darby and James Lang, based the book on small teaching principles, Universal Design for Learning, and active learning.
Regardless if instructors are new to the online teaching world or have been doing it for years, each will be able to find something to improve their courses.
I definitely recommend Small Teaching Online as part of your bookshelf.
I must also make a confession. For some reason, I had a different name in mind when recording this episode. It certainly was not Flower Darby. I have gone back and corrected it in both the book review and the podcast. Sorry for this error.
