Next to lecturing, one of the most common activities we spent time doing as educators is supplying content to our students. In most cases, this content takes the form of text. This can be in the form of handouts given out in class or put in the learning management system. It can also be in the form of slides displayed during a lecture. How we prepare documents to share with students will either add to or detract from the learning experience. Let’s discuss how we can add to the learning experience through the effective use of typography.

In this episode, we are going to look at one of the basic multimedia content forms. Specifically, we are going to explore how to better develop text documents to increase learning. Specifically, I am going to explain what typography is and why it is important. Next, I will outline effective practices for applying typography for print and digital text to include mobile.
