Book Review: Published.: The Proven Path From Blank Page to Published Author
(Last Updated On: January 11, 2020)

Sometimes you run across a process that makes so much sense that you have to try it. This is the case with Chandler Bolt’s book, Published.: The Proven Path From Blank Page To Published Author. I had heard Bolt discuss his book publishing process on an Entrepreneurs on Fire podcast episode and immediately said to myself, “This is something I need to try.” As a result, I purchased the book. I will use the book writing process for my upcoming book and use the book marketing process for this book, Read to Succeed.

Published. is just over 200 pages long and arranged in four major sections:

  • Laying the Foundation
  • Taking the Draft to the Next Level
  • Pre-Launch
  • Launch Week

In total, there are 23 chapters. Each chapter helps to explain the process in a clear and easy to understand manner.

In the Laying the Foundation section, Bolt outlines his process for writing a book in 30 days. This process will come in handy during NaNoWriMo, a 30-day book writing challenge. Bolt’s process works through an agile iterative method that includes mind mapping, outlining, and writing. Since the research is done for my next book, I am doing some organizing before I get into the writing process. But I will use some of the ideas Bolt has shared.

Once the draft manuscript has been written, it is time to review it and get it to an editor. In the second section, Taking the Draft to the Next Level, one would be working on the cover and title as well as all the smaller pieces of the book.

The third section, Pre-Launch, focuses on building a launch team and a plan for creating buzz around the book. I am currently using this strategy to help promote my book, Read to Succeed.

Finally, the last section, Launch Week, shares four different launch strategies. Each strategy is designed to help a different class of author from first-time authors to world renown authors. Additionally, Bolt shares strategies for soliciting reviews.

There is a lot of useful content in Published. I can’t wait to put it into action. If you are thinking about writing a book, you should definitely take a look at what Bolt has to share in Published. I am confident you can create a published book in 90 days.
