I had picked up Evernote: Your Second Brain: Evernote User Guide to Organize Your Life Clutter, Double Productivity and Achieve More in Less Time (How to Use Evernote, … Management, Evernote Essentials)* hoping to find another way to use my go to program, Evernote. However, I was extremely disappointed. This was perhaps the worst book I had ever read. The language used to write the book was terrible and there was very little new in terms of content. I would not recommend this book.

I appreciate the time and effort that goes into writing a book. Personally, I am working on one myself. This book would have been a 100% better if it another person had edited it. From reading the book, I was under the impression that English was not the native language of the writer. The sentence structure was very awkward and words were used that made no sense to the context.

This book is 42 pages and I was able to get through it in less than an hour. There was very little content that was new or groundbreaking. However, the author did present two ideas that I liked. First, he recommended using Evernote to record meetings and then later listen back to capture the notes. This would allow a participant to fully engage in the meeting without being distracted by notetaking. Additionally, the author provided an entire section about using IFTTT in conjunction with Evernote. There were a couple of ideas in this section that I liked.

In spite of a couple of high points, I could not in good faith recommend this book to anyone.

Check out other Evernote books I have reviewed. Want to know more about IFTTT?
