A few things are evident when reading Stan Skrabut’s book “Read to Succeed: The Power of Books to Transform Your Life and Put You on the Path to Success”…1) Stan has a passion for learning and reading & 2) After finishing this book I have never been more inspired to read more and apply the techniques Stan has laid out in his book to get more out of my reading for both business and pleasure. I have since signed up for GoodReads to make a reading goal for this year and have begun compiling a list of books I want to read (as suggested in his book).

The book is well organized, comprehensive, and inspirational.

So many successful individuals have had a thirst for reading as is shown in the book. Who doesn’t want to be successful?? Do yourself a favor, pick this book up and put yourself on the path of success today!! ~ Amazon Customer

A line in the book that stood out to Jocelyn Soriano:
A regular reading habit can pay dividends greater than what is paid for a book. Little wonder so many successful people make reading a priority.

The book “Read To Succeed” by Stan Skrabut shows the remarkable passion of a man who is a voracious reader and learner. A man who, from childhood, has benefited tremendously from books like only an ardent student could from a trustworthy mentor. It is no wonder why he now desires to share his love of reading so that other people’s lives may also be transformed by the powerful habit of reading.

A bookworm like me can definitely relate to many of the experiences he shared in the book like how, as a child, he entered the library as though it were a magical place. I can also relate to how he learned a programming language that supported his work through reading. Books are indeed not only mentors but friends who can help us in many ways if we only give them the time and allow them to accompany us.

Throughout the book, the author was able to give numerous examples of people who succeeded with the help of reading books. These include men who are successful in business, in politics, in science, and in many other areas of expertise. Stan was able to illustrate how many of these people devoted much time to reading books. They did not read books only when they felt they needed to on an occasional basis. They have acquired the habit of reading and reading has been a regular part of their daily routine.

Here, Stan was able to show many practical ways in which we can find the time and the opportunity to read. One example is during our daily commute to and from work. Other people are even able to do it while exercising via treadmill.

Stan wrote a very comprehensive book that not only tackles the benefits of reading but also the means by which we can improve our reading skills. He also had very practical advice on selecting the books we can read, choosing the tools to use when note-taking, building our personal library, organizing our book collection (whether physical or digital), and sharing our learning to other people.

This book is something that can definitely help people who want to benefit from reading. It is a reference material from which even bookworms like me can still learn much from. As Stan has mentioned as one of the benefits of reading, books can help us learn from the success and mistakes of other people. Why not learn from everything Stan has ever learned from the power of reading in transforming lives for the better?
