A week ago, I had the opportunity to attend the SUNY Online Summit in York City. The event was broken up into two major parts. The first part focused on the progress of SUNY Online. The second part was various presentations and panels dedicated to better teaching online.
During the first day, the SUNY leadership went into great detail explaining the SUNY Online initiative. They discussed their overall goals, technology platforms and stacks, and marketing. They also shared the history of SUNY Online beginning with Open SUNY and Open SUNY+. SUNY Online is the logical iteration.
In this episode, I am going to share what I learned during the sessions focusing on SUNY Online. In a future episode, I will provide details about the other sessions. There are also a number of strategies that I will dig deeper in subsequent episodes.
