Ready to Start Your 2019 Reading Challenge?
(Last Updated On: )

As I noted in my new book, Read to Succeed, you should be regularly reading. One way to do this is to establish a reading goal for the year. There is no better time to start than on the first of the year. I would like to encourage you to join me on a reading challenge or two for 2019.

As in past years, I will be pursuing two reading goals. One is focused on quantity and the other on quality. For my quantity goal, I have committed to reading 60 books in 2019. I have made my goal public by declaring it on Goodreads. You do not have to sign up for 60 books if you haven’t done a lot of reading. You may want to start out with reading one book a month. You can always increase the number of books you read. The overall goal is to start reading more.

My quality goal challenges me to read more diversely. To do this, I have been signing up for the Modern Mrs. Darcy Reading Challenge. I have been doing this challenge for a number of years and have found it to be a great way to start to read outside of my normal interests. Anne provides a list of twelve books. Check out her 2019 reading challenge.

I am still continuing my personal quest to read the Great Books of Western Civilization series. It has certainly been a challenge. I have not been as successful as I have hoped but I am still trying to check these books off my list. If you are interested in the Great Books, you can visit this site to see free editions.

Each month, I will share a list of books I am planning to read for the month. When I finish a book, I will write and share a review. Feel free to come and join me. I would love to hear about what you are reading. Enjoy the challenge! Good luck!
