The University of Wyoming is moving to Microsoft Lync as a communication tool, and is strongly encouraging the rest of campus to use it. I finally had a moment to check it out, and I believe it can be a beneficial tool for the organization. In order to help our Extension educators learn more about this tool, I have created a learning guide.
This learning guide is collection of articles describing how to use a number of the features. The first part of the learning guide describes some of the features and software and hardware necessary to operate the application. MS Lync can be used on both Windows and Mac operating systems, as well as, mobile devices such as the iPhone, iPad, and Android phones.
The Key Web Links section of the learning guide focus on beginner instructions and guides, ways to use Lync in business and education environments, ways to manage contacts, instant messaging, how to conduct meetings and conference calls, and ways to use voice and video.
It looks like Lync will be the tool to use, at least for the near future.
